Nov 17, 2020 at 9:00 AM to Nov 18, 2020 at 5:00 PM
Registration Information

We try to make our registrations as fair as possible. There are discounts for groups, veterans, full-time students, and unemployed candidates. We will often ask for verification of your status in order to avoid the unfortunate instances of students trying to claim discounted tickets that are limited in number for each class (and thereby taking them from others who deserve them). If you have any questions at all about our registration options and policies, please contact us at

Groups are defined as three or more individuals in the same purchase.

About The Course

If you are someone who is comfortable with the business side of projects, you are probably the right person to aspire to achieve a Certified Scrum Product Owner® (CSPO®) certification. While the Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM®) helps the Scrum Team work together to learn and implement Scrum, as a CSPO, you create the product vision, order the Product Backlog, and make sure the best possible job is done to delight the customer.

In the Scrum framework, the Product Owner has three main areas of responsibility:

  • The Customer
  • The Business, and
  • The Scrum Development Team

In this course, we will explore the fundamentals of Agile Development and the Scrum framework, introducing you to such concepts as

  • The role and responsibilities of the Product Owner
  • Understanding product vision, strategy, and the Product Backlog
  • Understanding your customers and stakeholders
  • Building the RIGHT product
  • Managing the Product Backlog

While this is a course on the fundamentals of Scrum and the Product Owner, you're going to learn a lot about how to build excellent, high-quality products more easily than you have ever experienced before. You will be able to improve the ROI (return on investment) of your team by focusing them on high-value features that the customer will absolutely love (and you won't waste your team"s time building things that no one actually needs)!

What our students have to say...

  • "Jim is a dynamic, personable, and energetic trainer. The depth of his knowledge and personal career experiences are inter-woven into the curriculum bringing it alive, which gets the class fully engaged in their own learning. I highly recommend any class taught by Jim!"
  • "I took took the Scrum Master course with Jim. He is a great instructor, keeps his students very active and engaged. Jim made sure everyone thoroughly understood the concepts of Scrum."
  • "I highly recommend Agile/Scrum professional development and organizational transformation coaching from Jim. I recently had him as an instructor for my CSM class and really appreciated the fact that he focused on us becoming great agile practitioners rather than getting us to pass a test."

Refund Policy

If YOU need to cancel within one week of the class, there is no refund. However, you may substitute another person to take your place in the class. Or, for a $200 fee, you can transfer to a future Artisan Software Consulting training event.  For a schedule of future workshops, please visit

If WE cancel the workshop, you will receive a full refund.

That said, Artisan Software Consulting, in ten years, has only cancelled two training events due to significant under-enrollment. While we really do not like cancelling training events, the training experience is best for the student when there is at least four students in the class.

In the event that a situation beyond our control forces a cancellation, we will notify you through the contact information you provide with your registration and issue a full refund of any fees paid.

Privacy Policy

We do not share your personal information with anyone...ever! While you will receive a small number of emails after the class to inform you of other opportunities, you will have the option to opt-out at any time (though we REALLY hope you won't want to). At no time do we ever possess your credit card information.
